William Ellis Colby, Caucasian, is dead. He has willed his thriving multi-million dollar advertising agency to his daughter, Sonya Ellis Colby, and his personal assistant, Velma Hannah (the woman he planned to marry and who is African-American). Claire Colby, William’s wife, unable to cope with her estranged husband’s death, commits suicide. Sonya blames Velma for her parents’ separation and her mother’s death and vows to make Velma pay for what she has done to her (Sonya’s) family.

Mildred Dumàs, playwright / author, and actress of stage, screen and television, has written numerous plays. Some of her most popular plays have been produced by theatres around the country. One of her plays, When the Past Comes Back…, received seven NAACP Theatre Awards Nominations in 2001. Mildred has also penned three novels: Bitter Inheritance, a mystery thriller that is being made into a movie, Facades, a detective mystery, and Christmas Blessings, a senior citizen romance. She is writing her fourth novel: Black Eden. Mildred is also a naturopathic doctor and has written a book on natural healing: God’s Diet for His People. Mildred resides in Palmdale, California.
